Brand V Bargain- MAC Pro Longwear Eye liner

I tweeted asking for any new requests for this feature and Laura from Guildford in the UK asked;

Although I rarely use pencil or kohl eye-liner anymore, I have to have it as an option for clients in my kit and have used the MAC range in the past.

Brand: MAC Pro Longwear Eye Liner

The MAC website states:

Pro Longwear’s long-lasting eye liner delivers creamy, dense colour that glides on smoothly. 12-hour waterproof formula stays put and smudge-free.

It does exactly that. Super easy to apply as it just glides on. It didn’t last for the full 12hours though. When I wore it myself or used it on clients reapplication was needed and more than once.
I can see how you go through buckets of the stuff Laura!

It is roughly $20 + tax in North America and £16.50 in the UK.

Bargain: Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on Pencil

I know a drugstore/bargain product is normally listed here but good, lasting eye liner is something you can’t cheap out on! Or at least I haven’t found a cheaper alternative than UD 24/7.

It’s just amazing!

Urban Decay says:

Creamy, forever-lasting, award-winning and waterproof, 24/7 pencils delight you with lush tropical hues, deep ‘metallics, and unusually vibrant neutrals.

This stuff just lasts. It’s just as easy to apply as the MAC one and is the same consistancy, it  lasts all day and night and no need to reapply which means you’ll use a whole lot less :)

Its retails for roughly $18 in North America & £14.00  in the UK. Ever so slightly cheaper.

Unlike MAC, Urban Decay products regularly go on sale. At the moment, this product is on sale in Debenhams for £12.60.

If it’s for everyday wear (which it seems to be if your going through lots of it) you can even opt for the Double-ended 24/7 Glide on Pencil which is the two most convenient shades, rich whiskey brown & zero black in the one pencil :)

Only under protest do I use pencil or kohl liner these days. But the customers knows best right?

I have completely converted to gel and liquid. It is scary and takes a bit of practice but once you master it you’ll never look back. Trust me.

Next blog post is going to be about all things Eye liner. The types, application tips, tool & brushes etc.
