Brand v Bargain- Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation

By  |  0 Comments

Hannah from Northern Ireland asked;

Is there a cheaper alternative for Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation?

Although hearing great reviews, I had never used this product before so I had to spoil myself and use it in order to find the bargain version :)

Brand: Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation

The Estee Launder  website says:

15-hour staying power. Flawless all day.
This worry-free, long-wearing makeup stays fresh and looks natural through heat, humidity, nonstop activity.
Won’t change color, smudge or come off on clothes.
Feels lightweight and comfortable.

Now the flawless look you see in the morning is the look you keep all day.

And it pretty much does that. It currently has 31 different shades in the range so it was easy to find one to match my skin tone. It literally lasts from 8am-11pm and has a natural, semi-matte finish which gave me the perfect glow for this time of year while still controlling shine and evening out my skin tone.

It is roughly $36 + tax in North America and  €35.00/£27.50 in Ireland/the UK.

Bargain: Maxfactor Facefinity All Day Flawless 3 in 1 Foundation

This product is a Primer, Concealer & Foundation all in one :) It’s great if your strapped for time in the morning but I still use it just as a foundation as I’m a bit of a perfectionist.

It has medium buildable coverage and a matte finish. It not the exact same as Double Wear but with a little added highlighter you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between the two.

It lasts a long time- not quite as long as Double wear but extremely close. I also have to add that Maxfactor doesn’t feel as heavy on my skin, it more lightweight. It also comes with a pump which doesn’t cost extra so you get more out of it.

Although it was a nice treat, I will not repurchase Double Wear when it runs out. Maxfactor is much cheaper and prefer how it is more lightweight.
Unfortunately Maxfactor has been discontinued in North America due to it’s sister company ‘CoverGirl’ being more popular but it can be purchased in Ireland for €14.99 and £11.99 in the UK.

I’m nearly done with my current Brand v Bargain request list so get onto the Facebook page and keep those requests coming :)
