Bedtime Beauty Resolutions for 2014

I’m embarrassed to admit that more often than not I’m extremely lazy when it comes to any sort of bedtime beauty routine or regime. Sometimes I’m so tired I just about managed to take off my makeup. Yes, I am so bold.

But with 2014, comes a new start. I know that sleeping for more than eight hours and looking fresh and beautiful in the morning without spending a lot of time in the front of the mirror is mission impossible, especially if work starts at 8 a.m. But the tips below will enable you to wakeup flawless (well more so than if you didn’t do them) and give you more time for beauty sleep!

  • Try sleep with 2 pillows & on your back. This will help reduce swollen & puffy eyes.
  • Put your hair in plaits/braids or buns to wake up with perfect waves ready for styling.

The 7 WORST things you can do to your hair

  • Drink a big glass of water to keep your skin hydrated and prevent it from  drying out overnight. If you suffer from bad dry skin, invest in a humidifier.

  •  Sleep on a silk or satin pillowcase as they help prevent wrinkles. Less friction.

  • DIY teeth whitening treatment- brush your teeth with baking soda daily. It really works.

Baking Soda:   Use a soft cloth to apply a paste of baking soda and water to the exterior of your car to remove tar. After the remedy has dried, rinse off with warm water. You can use this same thick paste to clean the corrosion that builds up on battery terminals. Leave on the remedy for 10 to 15 minutes, and then wash off.

  • For healthier, longer eyelashes, brush castor oil through them.

  • Hair that’s prone to frizz? Brush in a leave-in conditioner & wake up to smooth locks.

  • Make sure your night-time skin products contain brightening ingredients like vitamin C or retinol to avoid waking up with dull skin.
  • For hands- apply cuticle oil/hand cream & apply cotton gloves.

Cotton Gloves

  • For feet- a foot cream or good old vaseline will keep your skin soft & cracked heels at bay.

They really aren’t that complicated or time consuming & I’m’m sure you’ll start to notice a difference only a few days in!

I’m going to give it my all! This is a resolution I am determined to keep.
